2. How many hashtags to use?
Everyone knows the importance of hashtags - they will increase the engagement of your posts on social media, but only if you get it right. Not only do you have to use the correct hashtags, but also for different social media outlets, there are different rules. For example, for Instagram, you can include up to 30 hashtags on a regular post, and up to 10 hashtags on a Story. And we recommend to use them all, since you will see an increase in your engagement.
What about Facebook & Twitter?
Studies show that, at least on Twitter, tweets with one or two hashtags receive double attention, while tweets with more than 2 hashtags receive 17% less engagement. Facebook works exactly the same way. So don’t go crazy with your hashtags there guys!
3. Be Consistent
Brand consistency is key as well as posting consistently. Make sure to know which social media channels fit your business/brand and stick to a few rather than posting in all of them once a month. Studies show that it’s recommended to post 1 post per day on Facebook and 1-2 posts a day on Instagram.
4. Plan ahead
Make sure you know the big national holidays and you create offers accordingly and also post relevant content on those days. Planning ahead and using a scheduling tool, will also help you be more organised.
5. Check your stats & analytics
It’s very important to monitor not just the growth of your audience, but also the demographics, reach, engagement as well as to compare the results between different channels and with your Google Analytics. Not only to see what’s working/not working, but also who is your audience and when are they active, so you find the best times to post.
